Description
This delicate angel hair pasta with shrimp and olive oil is a light yet flavorful dish. It features tender shrimp tossed with thin pasta, garlic, and fresh parsley, all brought together with a simple olive oil sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound angel hair pasta
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for drizzling
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional), to taste
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the angel hair pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente.
- While the pasta cooks, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through.
- Drain the cooked pasta and add it directly to the skillet with the shrimp and garlic.
- Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil and the chopped fresh parsley to the skillet.
- Toss everything together until well combined. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
- Serve immediately, with an extra drizzle of olive oil if desired.
Notes
- Use fresh, good quality olive oil for the best flavor.
- Do not overcook the shrimp; they cook quickly.
- You can add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice at the end for brightness.
- For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of white wine to the skillet after cooking the garlic and let it reduce before adding the shrimp.
