  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour the batter evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish.
  6. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra rich flavor, you can add a pinch of cardamom to the peach mixture.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
  • If fresh peaches are not in season, you can use frozen peaches, thawed and drained.
