Cloud Bread Breakfast Sandwich

Amazing Cloud Bread Breakfast Sandwich in 3 Simple Steps

  • Author: Lina Kohn
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 2 sandwiches

Description

Enjoy a light and airy breakfast sandwich using cloud bread instead of traditional bread. This recipe is a delightful twist on a classic.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Your favorite breakfast sandwich fillings (e.g., cooked bacon, sausage, ham, cheese, spinach, tomato)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Separate the eggs. Place the egg whites in a clean, dry bowl and the egg yolks in a separate bowl with the softened cream cheese.
  3. Add cream of tartar to the egg whites. Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites on high speed until stiff peaks form.
  4. In the bowl with egg yolks and cream cheese, add salt and pepper. Beat until smooth and well combined.
  5. Gently fold the egg yolk mixture into the egg white mixture. Be careful not to deflate the egg whites.
  6. Spoon the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in four equal rounds, spaced apart. These will be your cloud bread slices.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and set. Let cool completely on the baking sheet.
  8. Assemble your breakfast sandwiches using the cloud bread slices as the ‘bread’ and filling with your desired ingredients.

Notes

  • Ensure your egg whites bowl and beaters are completely clean and dry for optimal stiff peaks.
  • Folding the mixtures gently is key to maintaining the airy texture.
  • Cloud bread is delicate, handle it with care.
  • Store cloud bread in an airtight container at room temperature for a day or in the refrigerator for up to three days.
