Description

Make this stunning White German Chocolate Cake. You get a moist white cake base paired with the rich, traditional coconut pecan frosting. It is a beautiful, decadent dessert perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

  • White Cake Ingredients: All-purpose flour, Granulated sugar, Baking powder, Salt, Unsalted butter (softened), Eggs, Vanilla extract, Milk, White chocolate chips (melted and cooled)
  • Coconut Pecan Frosting Ingredients: Evaporated milk, Egg yolks, Granulated sugar, Unsalted butter, Sweetened flaked coconut, Chopped pecans, Vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare your white cake batter following your preferred recipe, incorporating melted white chocolate for richness.
  2. Bake the cake layers until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  3. Prepare the coconut pecan frosting by combining evaporated milk, egg yolks, sugar, and butter in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  4. Remove the frosting from the heat. Stir in the coconut, pecans, and vanilla extract. Let the frosting cool slightly so it thickens to a spreadable consistency.
  5. Once the cakes are cool, assemble the cake. Place the first layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous layer of the coconut pecan frosting over the top.
  6. Top with the second cake layer. Frost the top and sides of the cake evenly with the remaining frosting.
  7. Chill the cake for at least one hour before slicing and serving for the best texture.

Notes

  • Use high-quality vanilla extract for the best flavor in the cake layers.
  • Make sure the melted white chocolate is fully cooled before mixing it into the cake batter to prevent curdling.
  • The coconut pecan frosting thickens significantly as it cools; adjust the cooling time to reach your desired spreading consistency.
  • This cake is best served slightly chilled or at cool room temperature.
