Description

Make this quick and creamy whipped hot chocolate using just a few ingredients for a rich, comforting drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon powdered sugar (for topping)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until warm, but not boiling.
  2. Remove the milk from the heat. Whisk in the cocoa powder and granulated sugar until fully dissolved and smooth. Pour the chocolate mixture into your serving mug.
  3. In a separate small bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
  4. Use a whisk or hand mixer to whip the cream mixture until soft peaks form, creating the fluffy topping.
  5. Spoon the whipped topping generously over the warm chocolate drink. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a richer base, use whole milk.
  • You can substitute the granulated sugar in the base with maple syrup or honey if desired.
  • If you do not have heavy cream, you can use stabilized whipped topping from a can, but the texture will differ.
