Ingredients

  • 2 racks pork spare ribs or baby back ribs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup paprika
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 2 tablespoons black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 cups your favorite BBQ sauce


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using) to create the rib rub.
  4. Generously rub the spice mixture all over the ribs.
  5. Wrap each rack of ribs tightly in aluminum foil.
  6. Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 2 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender.
  8. Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully unwrap them.
  9. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) or preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  10. Brush the ribs generously with BBQ sauce.
  11. Return the ribs to the oven or grill and cook for another 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and sticky.
  12. Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
