Description

This is the ultimate pumpkin cream cheese swirl bread recipe. It is easy to make and delicious.


Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir in the pumpkin puree.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. In a small bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  6. Pour half of the pumpkin batter into the prepared loaf pan. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the batter. Pour the remaining pumpkin batter over the cream cheese mixture. Swirl the batters together with a knife.
  7. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • You can use canned pumpkin puree for this recipe.
  • Make sure your cream cheese is softened before you start.
  • Do not overmix the batter.
