- 1 pound pasta
- 1 (5 ounce) can tuna, drained
- 1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes, until they begin to soften and release their juices.
- Add the drained tuna to the skillet and break it up with a spoon.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the tuna and tomato mixture.
- Toss everything together. If the pasta seems dry, add a little of the reserved pasta water.
- Stir in the chopped fresh basil.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately.

- Use good quality canned tuna for best flavor.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like spinach or olives.
- A squeeze of lemon juice at the end can brighten the flavors.
