Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup desiccated coconut
- 1/2 cup condensed milk
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 2 tablespoons chopped pistachios (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat the ghee in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
- Add the desiccated coconut to the pan and toast for 3-5 minutes until it turns golden brown and aromatic. Stir constantly to prevent burning.
- Pour in the condensed milk and regular milk. Mix well to combine with the toasted coconut.
- Cook the mixture, stirring continuously, until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the cardamom powder.
- Remove the pan from the heat. Let the mixture cool slightly until it’s comfortable to handle.
- Grease your palms with a little ghee. Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into round ladoos.
- Garnish each ladoo with chopped pistachios.
- Let the ladoos set for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Ensure you toast the coconut evenly to avoid a bitter taste.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less condensed milk based on your preference.
- You can add a pinch of saffron for extra flavor and color.
