You will create a fantastic Honey Garlic Chicken that is sticky, sweet, and savory. This recipe comes together fast, making it perfect for a weeknight meal your family will love.

- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water (slurry)
- Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Season the chicken pieces generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides and mostly cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Reduce the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Do not let it burn.
- Pour in the honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar (and ginger, if using). Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring constantly.
- Whisk the cornstarch slurry one more time and pour it slowly into the simmering sauce. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens to a glossy glaze, about 1-2 minutes.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Toss gently to coat every piece thoroughly with the sticky honey garlic glaze.
- Cook for 1-2 minutes more until the chicken is heated through and fully coated.
- Serve immediately garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- For extra crispy chicken, dust the raw pieces lightly with flour before searing them in step 2.
- Serve this dish over steamed white rice or brown rice.
- Add steamed broccoli or snap peas tossed in at the end for a complete meal.
