Description
This recipe combines tender steak and succulent shrimp with pasta in a rich cream sauce. It is a hearty and flavorful dish, perfect for a special meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fettuccine or linguine
- 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup dry white wine (optional)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Season steak cubes with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak and cook until browned on all sides and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove steak from skillet and set aside.
- Add remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil to the same skillet. Add onion and cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- If using, pour in white wine and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Cook until wine is reduced by half, about 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Reduce heat to low and cook, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add shrimp to the cream sauce and cook until pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
- Return cooked steak to the skillet with the sauce and shrimp. Add cooked pasta and toss to coat everything evenly.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can marinate the steak for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
- Adjust the amount of garlic and Parmesan cheese to your liking.
- If the sauce becomes too thick, you can add a splash of pasta water or chicken broth to thin it out.
