Description

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and diced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  1. Combine diced peaches, sugar, apple cider vinegar, chopped red onion, grated ginger, cinnamon, cloves, red pepper flakes (if using), and salt in a large saucepan.
  2. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
  4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 45-60 minutes, or until the chutney has thickened to your desired consistency. Stir frequently to prevent sticking.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  6. Transfer the cooled chutney to clean jars or an airtight container.
  7. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • For a smoother chutney, you can pulse it a few times with an immersion blender after cooking.
  • Adjust the red pepper flakes to control the level of heat.
  • This chutney is delicious served with cheese and crackers, roasted meats, or as a sandwich spread.
