Description

A vibrant and refreshing Sparkling Raspberry Lemonade, perfect for summer BBQs and picnics. This easy-to-make drink combines tart lemon with sweet raspberries for a delightful burst of flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh raspberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4-5 lemons)
  • 3 cups sparkling water or club soda, chilled
  • Fresh mint sprigs, for garnish (optional)
  • Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the raspberries, sugar, and 1 cup of water.
  2. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the raspberries begin to break down.
  3. Simmer for about 5 minutes, then remove from heat and let it steep for 15 minutes.
  4. Strain the raspberry mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing gently on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
  5. Add the fresh lemon juice to the strained raspberry syrup. Stir well.
  6. Fill glasses with ice.
  7. Pour about 1/4 cup of the raspberry lemonade base into each glass.
  8. Top with chilled sparkling water or club soda.
  9. Stir gently and garnish with fresh mint sprigs or lemon slices, if desired.

Notes

  • For a less sweet lemonade, reduce the sugar to 3/4 cup.
  • You can make the raspberry lemonade base ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Feel free to add other berries like strawberries or blueberries to the syrup for a mixed berry flavor.
