Description

Southern Style Pimento Cheese Deviled Eggs combine classic deviled eggs with the creamy, tangy flavor of pimento cheese. This recipe offers a comforting, regional twist on a beloved appetizer, perfect for gatherings or a simple indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large hard-boiled eggs, peeled and halved lengthwise
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons diced pimentos, drained
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Paprika for garnish
  • Fresh chives, chopped, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Carefully remove the yolks from the hard-boiled egg whites. Place the yolks in a medium bowl.
  2. Mash the egg yolks with a fork until they are smooth.
  3. Add mayonnaise, softened cream cheese, sharp cheddar cheese, diced pimentos, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar to the mashed yolks.
  4. Mix all ingredients together until well combined and creamy.
  5. Taste the mixture and season with salt and black pepper as needed.
  6. Spoon or pipe the pimento cheese yolk mixture back into the centers of the egg whites.
  7. Garnish with a sprinkle of paprika and chopped fresh chives, if desired.
  8. Chill the deviled eggs for at least 30 minutes before serving for best flavor.

Notes

  • Ensure eggs are perfectly hard-boiled for easy peeling and a smooth yolk texture.
  • Soften cream cheese to prevent lumps in the filling.
  • Adjust the amount of mayonnaise and cream cheese to achieve your desired consistency.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the yolk mixture.
