- 1 package (12 oz) white candy melts
- 1/4 cup shortening (optional, for smoother melting)
- Black decorating gel
- Orange decorating gel or small orange candies (like Necco wafers or circus peanuts cut small)
- Red or green decorating icing
- Small candy canes or pretzel sticks
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Separate the Oreo cookies. You will use the cream-filled halves.
- Melt the white candy melts according to package directions, using a double boiler or microwave. Stir in shortening if using.
- Dip each Oreo cookie half into the melted candy melts, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Place the coated Oreo on the prepared baking sheet.
- Before the candy coating hardens, attach a small candy cane or pretzel stick to the side of each coated Oreo to serve as the snowman’s arms.
- Use black decorating gel to draw eyes and buttons on the snowman’s face.
- Use orange decorating gel or a small piece of orange candy to create a carrot nose.
- Use red or green decorating icing to tie a scarf around the snowman’s neck.
- Allow the candy coating to set completely.
