- 3-4 lb beef brisket
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
Instructions
- Place the sliced onion on the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Trim any excess fat from the beef brisket and place it on top of the onions.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, black pepper, and thyme.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the brisket.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours, until the brisket is fork-tender.
- Remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
- Serve the sliced brisket with the cooking juices.
Notes
- For an extra rich flavor, you can sear the brisket on all sides before placing it in the slow cooker.
- Adjust the soy sauce and brown sugar to your preference for saltiness and sweetness.
- This brisket is delicious served with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a side salad.
