Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound linguine or your favorite pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup dry white wine (optional)
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
- Add minced garlic to the same skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes and white wine (if using). Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and let it cook for 15-20 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
- Stir in fresh basil and red pepper flakes (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Return cooked shrimp to the skillet with the marinara sauce. Toss to coat.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the shrimp and sauce. Toss everything together until well combined.
- Serve immediately, topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use San Marzano tomatoes.
- Adjust red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level.
- Fresh herbs like oregano or parsley can be added for extra flavor.
