Description

This classic shrimp marinara pasta recipe brings the authentic flavors of Italy to your kitchen. Succulent shrimp are tossed in a rich, homemade marinara sauce and served over perfectly cooked pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound linguine or your favorite pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (optional)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add minced garlic to the same skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in crushed tomatoes and white wine (if using). Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and let it cook for 15-20 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  5. Stir in fresh basil and red pepper flakes (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Return cooked shrimp to the skillet with the marinara sauce. Toss to coat.
  7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the shrimp and sauce. Toss everything together until well combined.
  8. Serve immediately, topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use San Marzano tomatoes.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level.
  • Fresh herbs like oregano or parsley can be added for extra flavor.
