Description
This shrimp and scallop pasta in garlic sauce is a quick and flavorful dish. It features tender shrimp and scallops tossed with pasta in a rich garlic butter sauce.

- 1 pound linguine or fettuccine
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pound sea scallops, patted dry
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add scallops to the hot skillet in a single layer. Sear for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove scallops from the skillet and set aside.
- Add shrimp to the same skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside with the scallops.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet and let it melt.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the melted butter. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Do not brown the garlic.
- Pour in white wine or chicken broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Return cooked shrimp and scallops to the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently to coat.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together until well combined and the pasta is coated in the sauce.
- Stir in fresh parsley. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the pan when searing the shrimp and scallops. Cook in batches if necessary to ensure even browning.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese can be added at the end for extra flavor.
