- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
Instructions
- Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels.
- In a shallow dish, combine the sesame seeds, salt, and pepper.
- Press each side of the tuna steaks into the sesame seed mixture, coating evenly.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Carefully place the tuna steaks in the hot skillet.
- Sear for 1-2 minutes per side for rare, or longer for more well-done.
- While the tuna sears, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and ginger for the dipping sauce.
- Remove tuna from skillet and let rest for a minute.
- Slice the tuna steak and serve with the dipping sauce.

- For a deeper crust, toast the sesame seeds lightly before coating the tuna.
- Adjust searing time based on your desired level of doneness.
