Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (6 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup (6 ounces) milk chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped pretzels
- 1 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
- In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Add the flour and mix until a dough forms.
- Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to create the crust.
- Bake the crust for 15-18 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
- Remove the crust from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top.
- Drizzle the caramel sauce over the chocolate chips.
- Sprinkle the chopped pretzels over the caramel.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for another 10-12 minutes, or until the chocolate is melted and the edges are bubbly.
- Let the bars cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For an extra salty kick, use pretzel rods crushed into pieces.
- If you prefer a richer caramel flavor, use a dulce de leche instead of caramel sauce.
- Store cooled bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
