  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 4 ounces rice noodles
  • 4 ounces cooked chicken, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup bean sprouts
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges


Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine chicken broth, fish sauce, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and five-spice powder. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Add rice noodles to the simmering broth and cook according to package directions, usually 3-5 minutes.
  3. While noodles cook, prepare your toppings: chicken, cilantro, basil, and bean sprouts.
  4. Ladle the hot broth and noodles into bowls.
  5. Top with cooked chicken and fresh herbs and sprouts.
  6. Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
