Description
Make this simple, crowd-pleasing dip featuring a sweet and spicy flavor profile using cream cheese and cheddar.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup red pepper jelly
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- 2 tablespoons crumbled cooked bacon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8-inch pie dish or small oven-safe baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until fully blended.
- Spread the cheese mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Spoon the red pepper jelly over the top of the cheese layer. Do not stir it in.
- If using, sprinkle the chopped pecans and crumbled bacon over the jelly layer.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly around the edges.
- Serve warm immediately with crackers or vegetable sticks.
Notes
- You can use jalapeno jelly instead of red pepper jelly for a different type of heat.
- For a quicker version, skip baking and simply mix all ingredients together and serve cold with crackers.
- Use a block of cheese you shred yourself for better melting texture.
