Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cut into cubes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced peaches with granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour the mixture into an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, brown sugar, oats, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish.
  6. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.
  7. Let the crisp cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
  • If your peaches are very ripe, you may need to reduce the granulated sugar slightly.
  • For a nuttier flavor, add 1/2 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts to the crumb topping.
