  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and olive oil until well combined.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract until just combined.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  8. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
