Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces pasta (like penne, rotini, or shells)
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 cup diced cooked ham
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, combine the pasta and broth. Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
- Stir in the diced ham and frozen peas. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the peas are tender and the ham is heated through.
- Remove from heat. Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until the sauce is creamy.
- Garnish with fresh parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can use any short pasta shape you like.
- Adjust the amount of broth if you prefer a saucier pasta.
- For a richer flavor, you can add a clove of minced garlic with the pasta.
