Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2 cups uncooked pasta (like elbow macaroni or rotini)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped dill pickles (optional)
- Ketchup and mustard for serving (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium-high heat until the beef is browned and the onion is softened. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the beef broth, add the uncooked pasta, salt, pepper, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked al dente and most of the liquid has been absorbed, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
- If using, stir in the chopped dill pickles.
- Serve hot, with ketchup and mustard on the side if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the other seasonings.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for ground beef.
- If you don’t have dill pickles, sweet pickles can also be used, or omitted entirely.
