Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for skillet
- ½ cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup toppings of your choice (pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers, etc.)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, yeast, and salt.
- Add warm water and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 1 minute until it just comes together.
- Lightly oil a 10-inch oven-safe skillet. Place the dough in the skillet and press it evenly into the bottom and up the sides.
- Let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Spread pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
- Add your favorite toppings.
- Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Ensure your water is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast properly.
- Feel free to adjust toppings based on your preferences.
- For a crispier crust, you can preheat the skillet in the oven before adding the dough.
