- 1 pound fresh morel mushrooms, cleaned
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)
- Salt to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Clean the morel mushrooms thoroughly. Slice larger mushrooms in half.
- Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add morel mushrooms to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until they release their liquid and the liquid evaporates, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in white wine and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let the wine reduce slightly.
- If using, stir in heavy cream and cook until slightly thickened.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- To clean morel mushrooms, soak them in water for a few minutes, then rinse thoroughly to remove any dirt or debris. You may need to repeat this process.
