  • 2 pounds ground beef (80/20 recommended)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Secret Ingredient: 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon ketchup, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and the secret ingredient (Parmesan cheese).
  3. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish or on a baking sheet.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the glaze ingredients: 1/2 cup ketchup, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar.
  6. Spread half of the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and spread the remaining glaze over the meatloaf.
  9. Continue baking for another 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  10. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

  • Using 80/20 ground beef provides the best flavor and moisture.
