Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 large egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Grease and lightly flour two 6-ounce ramekins.
- Melt the chocolate and butter together in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, egg yolk, and sugar until pale and slightly thickened.
- Gently whisk the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture.
- Stir in the flour and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared ramekins.
- Bake for 12 to 14 minutes. The edges should be set, but the center should still be soft.
- Let the cakes cool in the ramekins for one minute.
- Carefully invert each cake onto a small serving plate.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving immediately.
Notes
- Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
- Do not overbake; the molten center depends on precise timing.
