Description

Indulge in these delightful Maple Pecan Pie Bars, a perfect comforting treat for any fall gathering. These bars combine the classic flavors of maple and pecan in an easy-to-share format, bringing a touch of homemade warmth to your kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cut into cubes
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • ¾ cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
  5. Bake the crust for 15 minutes, until lightly golden.
  6. While the crust bakes, prepare the filling. In a separate bowl, whisk together the chopped pecans, maple syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
  7. Pour the maple pecan filling evenly over the partially baked crust.
  8. Return the pan to the oven and bake for another 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the edges are golden brown.
  9. Let the bars cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting them out using the parchment paper overhang.
  10. Cut into bars and serve.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar.
  • Ensure your butter is very cold for the best crust texture.
  • Allow the bars to cool completely for clean cuts.
