- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
- Bake the crust for 15 minutes, until lightly golden.
- While the crust bakes, prepare the filling. In a separate bowl, whisk together the chopped pecans, maple syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Pour the maple pecan filling evenly over the partially baked crust.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for another 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the edges are golden brown.
- Let the bars cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting them out using the parchment paper overhang.
- Cut into bars and serve.
