Description
Make these Mango Habanero Wings for a sweet and spicy treat perfect for game day. You will love this flavorful combination.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs chicken wings, separated into flats and drumettes
- 1 cup mango puree
- 1/4 cup habanero peppers, minced (adjust to your spice preference)
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying or baking
Instructions
- Pat the chicken wings dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Prepare the sauce: In a small saucepan, combine mango puree, minced habanero, apple cider vinegar, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Cook the wings using your preferred method (deep fry until golden brown and cooked through, or bake at 400°F (200°C) for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway).
- Place the cooked wings in a large bowl.
- Pour half of the mango habanero sauce over the wings. Toss well to coat every piece evenly.
- Serve immediately with the remaining sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy your wings!
Notes
- If you prefer less heat, remove the seeds and white pith from the habanero peppers before mincing.
- For a sticky glaze, you can toss the wings in the sauce and bake them for an additional 5 minutes after they are fully cooked.
- Fresh mango puree yields the best flavor for the sauce.
