- 1 pound pasta
- 1 (5 ounce) can tuna, drained
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Add the drained tuna to the skillet and break it up with a spoon.
- Stir in the lemon juice and cook for another minute.
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the tuna mixture.
- Toss to combine, adding a little reserved pasta water if needed to create a light sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.

- For a richer flavor, you can use tuna packed in olive oil.
