Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pasta
  • 1 (5 ounce) can tuna, drained
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish


Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Add the drained tuna to the skillet and break it up with a spoon.
  5. Stir in the lemon juice and cook for another minute.
  6. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the tuna mixture.
  7. Toss to combine, adding a little reserved pasta water if needed to create a light sauce.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can use tuna packed in olive oil.
  • Adjust the amount of lemon juice and red pepper flakes to your preference.
