Description

Enjoy these delightful Key Lime Pie Bars, a perfect portable twist on the classic dessert. With a buttery graham cracker crust and a creamy, tangy key lime filling, they’re ideal for sharing at gatherings or as a sweet treat any time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • â…“ cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup key lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and granulated sugar. Pour in the melted butter and stir until the crumbs are evenly moistened.
  3. Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
  4. Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes, until lightly golden. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, and lime zest until smooth and well combined.
  6. Pour the filling evenly over the baked crust.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly jiggly.
  8. Let the bars cool completely on a wire rack, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For an extra touch of sweetness and visual appeal, you can top the cooled bars with whipped cream and a sprinkle of lime zest before serving.
  • Ensure your key lime juice is fresh for the best flavor.
  • Allow the bars to chill thoroughly for clean cuts.
