- 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar

- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour in the milk and stir until just combined, forming a thick batter.
- Spoon dollops of the batter over the peach mixture in the baking dish.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
- If fresh peaches are not in season, you can use frozen or canned peaches (drained).
