Description

Make the best Homemade Guacamole for your next gathering. This recipe is easy, fresh, and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, finely minced (seeds removed for less heat)
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
  • 1 Roma tomato, seeded and diced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
  2. Add the red onion, cilantro, minced jalapeño, lime juice, and salt to the bowl.
  3. Gently mash the avocado with a fork. You control the texture; mash until you reach your desired consistency, leaving some chunks is nice.
  4. If using, fold in the diced tomato.
  5. Taste the guacamole. Add more salt or lime juice as needed.
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite chips for a fantastic party dip.

Notes

  • For a brighter green color, add a tiny pinch of cumin.
  • Always taste and adjust the seasoning before serving.
  • You can substitute regular onion with green onions if you prefer a milder flavor.
