- 3 ripe avocados
- 1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 jalapeño, finely minced (seeds removed for less heat)
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
- 1 Roma tomato, seeded and diced (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
- Add the red onion, cilantro, minced jalapeño, lime juice, and salt to the bowl.
- Gently mash the avocado with a fork. You control the texture; mash until you reach your desired consistency, leaving some chunks is nice.
- If using, fold in the diced tomato.
- Taste the guacamole. Add more salt or lime juice as needed.
- Serve immediately with your favorite chips for a fantastic party dip.
Notes
- For a brighter green color, add a tiny pinch of cumin.
- Always taste and adjust the seasoning before serving.
- You can substitute regular onion with green onions if you prefer a milder flavor.
