Description
Learn to make easy, delicious garlic knots at home. These soft, garlicky bread bites are perfect with any meal.
Ingredients

- 1 1/4 cups warm water (105-115F)
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil, plus more for greasing
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a rope about 8 inches long. Tie each rope into a knot.
- Place knots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400F (200C).
- Bake knots for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While knots bake, mix melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt.
- Brush garlic mixture over warm knots immediately after they come out of the oven.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter.
- You can also use dried parsley if fresh is unavailable.
