Description
A refreshing drink made from dried hibiscus flowers.
Ingredients

- 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
- 8 cups water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)
- Lime slices, for serving
- Ice, for serving
Instructions
- Rinse the dried hibiscus flowers under cold water.
- In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil.
- Add the rinsed hibiscus flowers to the boiling water.
- Turn off the heat, cover the pot, and let the hibiscus steep for 15-20 minutes. The water will turn a deep red color.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, discarding the hibiscus flowers.
- Stir in the sugar until dissolved. Adjust sugar to your desired sweetness.
- Let the agua fresca cool completely.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
- Serve over ice with lime slices.
Notes
- You can adjust the amount of sugar to your preference.
- For a stronger flavor, steep the hibiscus flowers for a longer time.
- Hibiscus agua fresca can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
