Description

Enjoy this delightful Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta, a simple yet elegant dish perfect for any occasion. It’s a quick recipe that brings a taste of Italy to your table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pasta (linguine or spaghetti recommended)
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine (optional)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through.
  5. If using wine, pour it into the skillet and let it simmer for about 1 minute, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  6. Add the drained pasta and chopped parsley to the skillet with the shrimp.
  7. Toss everything together. If the pasta seems dry, add a little of the reserved pasta water, a tablespoon at a time, until it reaches your desired consistency.
  8. Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.
  9. Serve immediately, with lemon wedges on the side if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice at the end.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like cherry tomatoes or spinach.
  • Ensure shrimp are not overcooked to maintain tenderness.
