Description
Enjoy this delightful Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta, a simple yet elegant dish perfect for any occasion. It’s a quick recipe that brings a taste of Italy to your table.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pasta (linguine or spaghetti recommended)
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup dry white wine (optional)
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Lemon wedges for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through.
- If using wine, pour it into the skillet and let it simmer for about 1 minute, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Add the drained pasta and chopped parsley to the skillet with the shrimp.
- Toss everything together. If the pasta seems dry, add a little of the reserved pasta water, a tablespoon at a time, until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.
- Serve immediately, with lemon wedges on the side if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice at the end.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like cherry tomatoes or spinach.
- Ensure shrimp are not overcooked to maintain tenderness.
