Description

Create incredibly flavorful and fluffy Garlic Butter Rice quickly. This simple side dish elevates plain rice with fresh garlic and rich butter, perfect for pairing with any main course.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup White Rice (long-grain recommended)
  • 2 cups Water or Chicken Broth
  • 3 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 4 cloves Fresh Garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt (or to taste)
  • 1/8 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the white rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain well.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and water or broth. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan tightly, and simmer for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it stand, covered, for an additional 10 minutes. Do not uncover during this resting time.
  5. While the rice rests, melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat.
  6. Add the minced fresh garlic to the melted butter. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
  7. Remove the rice from the heat. Fluff the rice gently with a fork.
  8. Pour the garlic butter mixture over the fluffed rice. Add salt and pepper.
  9. Gently fold the garlic butter into the rice until evenly coated.
  10. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Using chicken broth instead of water adds deeper flavor.
  • For extra richness, use salted butter and adjust added salt accordingly.
  • Do not skip the resting step after cooking; this creates the fluffiest texture.
  • Ensure the heat is very low during simmering to prevent the bottom from scorching.
