Description

Enjoy a simple yet delicious one-skillet dinner featuring juicy pork chops bathed in garlic butter and served with bright, lemony green beans.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 (6-ounce) pork chops, about 1-inch thick
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season pork chops with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in butter and let it melt.
  5. Add trimmed green beans to the skillet. Pour in chicken broth.
  6. Cook green beans, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes, until tender-crisp.
  7. Return pork chops to the skillet. Spoon the garlic butter sauce over the pork chops and green beans.
  8. Stir in lemon juice and lemon zest.
  9. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until pork chops are cooked through and heated.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For thicker pork chops, you may need to adjust the cooking time. Ensure they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  • You can add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic for a touch of heat.
  • If you don’t have chicken broth, vegetable broth or even water can be used.
