- 4 (6-ounce) pork chops, about 1-inch thick
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 pound green beans, trimmed
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season pork chops with salt and pepper.
- Sear pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in butter and let it melt.
- Add trimmed green beans to the skillet. Pour in chicken broth.
- Cook green beans, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes, until tender-crisp.
- Return pork chops to the skillet. Spoon the garlic butter sauce over the pork chops and green beans.
- Stir in lemon juice and lemon zest.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until pork chops are cooked through and heated.
- Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For thicker pork chops, you may need to adjust the cooking time. Ensure they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- You can add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic for a touch of heat.
- If you don’t have chicken broth, vegetable broth or even water can be used.
