Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter, oil, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the shredded zucchini and chopped nuts (if using).
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bars cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- While the bars are cooling, prepare the frosting. In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating until well combined.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and milk or cream until the frosting is smooth and spreadable.
- Once the bars are completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top.
- Cut into squares and serve.
