Description

Spicy jalapeños filled with a creamy cheese mixture and wrapped in crispy bacon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 12 fresh jalapeño peppers
  • 6 slices bacon, cut in half crosswise

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined.
  3. Carefully slice each jalapeño pepper in half lengthwise. Use a spoon to remove the seeds and membranes.
  4. Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half.
  5. Wrap each filled jalapeño half with a half slice of bacon. Secure with a toothpick if necessary.
  6. Place the bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the cheese is bubbly.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For less heat, soak the jalapeño halves in ice water for 30 minutes after seeding.
  • Wear gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid skin irritation.
  • You can experiment with different types of cheese.
