- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together butter and sugar in a large bowl.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
- Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
- Do not overmix the dough.
- You can substitute other mix-ins for the chocolate chips, such as nuts or dried fruit.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
