Description

You can make these Ultimate Easy Pepperoni & Mozzarella Pizza Pinwheels using refrigerated crescent roll dough. They are a perfect, quick appetizer or snack that brings the flavor of pizza into a fun, bite-sized roll. Your family and guests will love these cheesy, savory treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pepperoni
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (optional, for brushing)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Gently press the perforations together to form one large rectangle.
  3. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border on one long edge.
  4. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese and chopped pepperoni evenly over the sauce.
  5. Starting from the long edge opposite the border, tightly roll the dough into a log.
  6. Brush the outside of the log lightly with melted butter, if using.
  7. Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 12 equal rounds, about 3/4 inch thick.
  8. Place the pinwheels cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning if desired.
  9. Bake for 10-14 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a crispier bottom, you can bake the pinwheels directly on a pizza stone.
  • If you prefer, substitute crescent roll dough with puff pastry sheets, adjusting baking time as needed.
  • Feel free to add finely chopped bell peppers or mushrooms with the pepperoni for extra flavor.
  • Use your favorite pizza sauce recipe or store-bought sauce.
