  • Author: Lina Kohn
  • Total Time: 5 minutes active time plus overnight refrigeration
  • Yield: 1 serving
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Prepare this simple Overnight Chia Pudding for an easy, make-ahead breakfast. It is a wonderful way to start your day with minimal morning effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a jar or container, combine the chia seeds, milk, sweetener (if using), vanilla extract, and salt.
  2. Stir well to make sure the chia seeds are fully submerged and there are no clumps.
  3. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes, then stir again thoroughly. This prevents the seeds from sticking to the bottom.
  4. Cover the container and place it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  5. In the morning, check the consistency. If it is too thick, stir in a splash more milk.
  6. Serve cold with your favorite toppings like fresh fruit or nuts.
