Description
You will love this incredibly easy, no-bake peanut butter pie featuring a rich, creamy filling set in a buttery Oreo crust. It is a decadent dessert perfect for any gathering and requires no oven time.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 3/4 cups chocolate sandwich cookie crumbs (about 24 cookies)
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (for topping swirl)
- 1/4 cup chocolate syrup (for drizzling)
- 1/2 cup mini peanut butter cups, chopped (optional topping)
Instructions
- Prepare the crust: Combine the chocolate sandwich cookie crumbs and melted butter in a medium bowl. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate. Place the crust in the freezer while you prepare the filling.
- Make the filling base: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add 1 cup of creamy peanut butter, sifted powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until the mixture is fully combined and creamy.
- Fold in whipped topping: Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until no streaks remain. Do not overmix.
- Assemble the pie: Spoon the peanut butter filling evenly into the chilled Oreo crust. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- Add topping swirl: Warm the remaining 1/2 cup of peanut butter slightly so it is pourable. Drizzle the melted peanut butter over the top of the pie. Drizzle with chocolate syrup. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the chocolate and peanut butter together for a decorative effect.
- Chill: Cover the pie loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until firm. For best results, chill overnight.
- Serve: Before serving, top with chopped peanut butter cups, if desired. Slice and enjoy this crowd pleaser dessert.
Notes
- For a graham cracker crust variation, substitute 1 1/2 cups of graham cracker crumbs for the Oreo crumbs and use 1/4 cup of melted butter.
- If you want an extra rich flavor, use a high-quality, conventional creamy peanut butter, not the natural, oily kind.
- This pie sets best when chilled for a long period; plan ahead for your gathering.
