Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 6 cloves fresh garlic, minced very fine
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- Place the softened butter in a mixing bowl.
- Add the minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper to the butter.
- If using, mix in the fresh lemon juice now.
- Use a fork or rubber spatula to thoroughly combine all ingredients until the mixture is uniform.
- For best flavor, transfer the butter onto plastic wrap or parchment paper.
- Roll the butter into a log shape, twisting the ends to seal it tightly.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up before using.
- Slice off rounds to melt over hot food or use as desired.
Notes
- You can roast the garlic first for a sweeter, milder flavor instead of using raw minced garlic.
- To make a spicy version, add 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes with the other seasonings.
- Store the wrapped garlic butter log in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
- Freeze the log for up to three months for longer storage.
