Description
Make this simple, cheesy Dorito Casserole for a satisfying, family-friendly dinner. It uses ground beef and crushed chips for a great texture.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 (10 ounce) can Ro-Tel diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup water
- 4 cups crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos (about half a large bag)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Brown the ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in the cream of chicken soup, Ro-Tel, sour cream, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and water into the skillet with the meat mixture. Cook until heated through, stirring constantly.
- Remove the skillet from the heat. Gently fold in 3 cups of the crushed Doritos and 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese into the meat mixture.
- Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Top the casserole evenly with the remaining 1 cup of crushed Doritos and the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the topping is lightly browned.
- Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a different flavor, substitute cream of mushroom soup for the cream of chicken soup.
- You can use any flavor of Doritos you prefer, such as Cool Ranch, for a variation on this cheesy baked dinner recipe.
- If you want extra moisture, add 1/2 cup of milk when mixing the wet ingredients.
