Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan, or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar for the brownie batter.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar for the cheesecake swirl until smooth.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the red food coloring, cocoa powder, and flour. Add this mixture to the cream cheese mixture and beat until well combined and uniformly colored.
- Dollop spoonfuls of the cheesecake mixture over the brownie batter in the pan.
- Pour the remaining brownie batter over the cheesecake dollops.
- Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the cheesecake batter into the brownie batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
